About the topics

Each interactive resource featured on this website has been created to link to the school curriculum. They have been checked by science teachers and industry experts.

This website is used by up to 65,000 people a week, mainly teachers and students. They value the high quality materials, the lack of adverts and the fact that all material on this website is available free to use without having to log on.

Use in your teaching

Most of the animations can be shown full screen size. This is ideal for projection or use on an electronic whiteboard as part of your lesson.

Many teachers use the website to set homework assignments or material for cover lessons. Many of the topics include quizzes, which make handy starters or plenaries, or can be used as quick fire tests of student’s knowledge.

A list of all the topics and which age ranges they are suited to can be found here.

You can embed our diagrams and animations in your schemes of work and lesson plans by downloading them. Some topics also have additional worksheets. These can all be accessed through the Download library.

Student use of the site

Students find the site great to help them catch up if they have missed a lesson, and as a revision aid before tests and exams. Some topics are useful sources of information for project work.
